Ola’s electric scooters are gaining popularity in the Indian market. Yes, there have been some criticisms, but this is unquestionably revolutionary. Furthermore, an increasing number of Ola scooters can be seen on the roads every day, which says a lot. The price of electric scooters is one of our major complaints. Spending approximately Rs. 1.25-1.50 Lakhs on a scooter in India still seems excessive.
This is why Ola has yet to move into the common houses. However, Ola is attempting to address this issue with the Ola S1 Air. The Ola S1 Air is a scaled-down version of the S1 and S1 Pro, with some price differences. The naming here is unequivocally correct and has been influenced by funky and expensive electronic gadgets.
New Inclusions in S1 Air
Ola Electric has expanded its product lineup with the release of its most affordable model, the S1 Air. In the Indian market, this new version of the S1 series is available in five different colours. Jet Black, Coral Glam, Liquid Silver, Porcelain White, and Neo Mint are among the colours available.
While the colour scheme is similar to that of the S1, the Air variant has a different wheel design, a single-piece pillion grabrail rather than the two-piece unit found on the S1 and S1 Pro, and a black finish to the lower part of the rear panel. The new S1 Air model is distinguished from the existing S1 and S1 Pro models by its braking and suspension setup. The S1 Air variant’s anchoring system consists of drum units on both wheels. Traditional telescopic front forks and twin springs at the rear handle shock absorption.
Battery and Range of OLA S1 Air
Of course, the smaller battery accounts for the majority of the cost savings. The Ola S1 Air has a 2.5kWh battery pack as opposed to the S1 Pro’s 3.9kWh unit. This reduces the claimed range to 101 kilometres. If ridden in eco mode, this scooter should be able to travel 80-85 kilometres on a single charge (real-world estimate). Yes, there are three modes: eco, normal, and sport. However, it lacks the hyper mode. This one has a top speed of 85KM/hr and an 0-40 time of 4.3 seconds. This one is also quite light, weighing just under 100KGs. The figures are pretty good for city usage, and they justify the price decrease. Keep in mind that electric scooters are not intended to be high-performance vehicles; rather, they are intended to transport you around the city in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner.
Pricing of OLA S1 Air
The Ola S1 Air is priced at Rs. 84,999 in India. It costs Rs. 15,000 less than the S1 and Rs. 35,000 less than the S1 Pro. Given the significant price difference, the S1 Air appears to be a good buy for commuters. In practice, this scooter will be less expensive to buy and operate than a Honda Activa. If Ola avoids the list of complaints it received earlier, this EV will easily rule the market.
